Crossfit Training (For Elite Fitness)

Crossfit is a broad topic and the best place to learn about it is at www.crossfit.com

We do not currently offer Crossfit classes, but we do offer Crossfit through the personal training program.  We have options for 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week.

CrossFit - why do we use it?

Crossfit is a strength and conditioning program that is based around frequently varied functional movements executed at a high intensity. The Crossfit program is extremely demanding but dramatic results come very quickly. You will see an almost immediate reduction in bodyfat levels, increases in cardio respiratory endurance, muscular endurance, strength, and lean body mass.

The Crossfit program was originated by trainer and coach Greg Glassman in Santa Cruz, CA and quickly grew in popularity among the military, law enforcement, and firefighting communities based on the tremendous increases in physical fitness that the program provides.

The beauty of Crossfit is that the workouts can be performed by ANYBODY. Elite martial artists, elite special forces personnel, middle aged businessmen, housewives, and grandparents have all benefited from the Crossfit program. The workouts are the same for everybody, the intensity is scaled to your fitness level. So an Olympic athlete or an accountant can both get a great workout from the same program.

The workouts are short and intense, and mix a variety of training modalities from free weights, kettlebells, running, rowing, medicine balls, etc. All the workouts are different and you will never be bored. Once you have tried Crossfit you will never go back to anything else, guaranteed.

Below are Mike and Owen doing Crossfit workout “Helen” in the rain - 400meter run, kettlebells, and pull ups!! Owen is a police officer with the Humble PD, and both are currently training in jiu-jitsu.

Here is Troy, performing a pretty decent clean and jerk.  A little early with his arm pull, but that’s okay. Troy competes in an over thirty basketball league and is an avid golfer and wakeboarder.  Olympic lifts like the C&J help develop explosive power, and teach total body coordination.
